New Candidate applications will be reviewed by the MA-SHoF Board, Executive Committee and the Nominating Committee Co-Chairs.  All New Candidates will be placed in the category deemed most appropriate, regardless of category requested in Nomination Form.

Candidates submitted in prior years, who were Nominated in their specific category and whose names appeared on the official ballot, but not Inducted, will remain on the nomination list for up to the next two election cycles.

STEP THREE (May 1-15): NOMINEE VOTING

Once submitted candidate nominations are chosen, there will be a voting process made of up of the MA-SHoF Board, Executive Committees, Prior Year Inductees, and MA-SHoF Members, and may include current and former skateboarding professionals from the region, members of the media in the region, and members of the skateboarding industry in the region.

STEP FOUR (May 16-30): VOTING REVIEW & RATIFICATION

The finalists in each category will be presented to the MA-SHoF Board for approval and ratification.  The MA-SHoF Board retains the sole right to approve or deny each candidate.  The Board may deny any candidate it deems to be detrimental to or will reflect poorly upon the organization.  A Finalist not ratified by the Board will be replaced by the highest-ranking alternate in the same category.  The decisions of the Board are final.

STEP FIVE (JUNE 1-15): INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED

Finalists ratified by the Board are The Inductees of that given year.  Inductees will be notified personally, one at a time, by a member of the MA-SHoF Board.  Once that process is completed, formal announcements will be made on the MA-SHoF website, social media pages, released to the skateboard media, and sent to all MA-SHoF members via email newsletter.

STEP SIX (SEPTEMBER 20): INDUCTION CEREMONY

New MA-SHoF Inductees will be recognized and provided their awards at our annual induction ceremony.  The ceremony will take place each year in one of the Mid-Atlantic States to be selected by the Board at the beginning of the year.

The inaugural induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Ocean City, Maryland.  Attendance at the ceremony is extremely limited and open only to the MA-SHoF Board, Executive Committees, Inductees, their guests, and members of the MA-SHoF.

Tickets and Sponsorship Opportunities for the Annual Induction Ceremony will be available once the nomination process has been completed each year.  MA-SHoF Board, Executive Committee, Inductees and Members will be notified about ticket availability and sponsorship opportunities via an email newsletter.  Due to the extremely limited tickets, only the Inductees are guaranteed spots, so act quickly if you’d like to come.
